This new work from Giles Ward is a distinctive bold rendering of three silver herring displayed upon a large oval dish. Measuring nearly one and a half metres long, this visually arresting image would sit magnificently as the centrepiece on a large kitchen or dining room wall. Featuring Giles Ward’s trademark heavily impasto layers of paint and rich palette of colours, the three herring appear as if raised from the surface of the canvas. The under-stated background and simple stylised dish only serve to emphasise the potent richness of the three playful fish.
